HB 605: Voters Right to Know Act

Rep. Dahle was a Primary Sponsor on this bill which is a voter protection measure that requires voting sites to prominently display information on voters’ rights and the voting process.  The bill also establishes a toll-free number for citizen voting questions which would be staffed during voting hours by an employee of the State Board of Elections.

HB 180: Designate Overdose Awareness Day

Rep. Dahle was a Primary Sponsor on this bill to designate August 31 as Overdose Awareness Day in North Carolina.

HB 328: Allow Trade or Exchange of Spirituous Liquor

Rep. Dahle was a Primary Sponsor on this bill which would allow people to trade liquor without needing a permit. It’s particularly helpful for bourbon/whiskey fans who search for these products to sample.

HB 1169: Bipartisan Elections Act of 2020

Rep. Dahle was a Primary Sponsor on this bill which makes sure that elections are safe and secure during the COVID-19 pandemic by allowing for online absentee ballot requests, adds a bar code to absentee mail-in ballots so voters can track their ballot’s status, and funds the State Board of Elections response to COVID-19 by providing for PPE for use at polling places and increased recruitment and compensation of poll workers.

Gov. Roy Cooper signed HB 1169 into law on June 12, 2020.

HB 551: LRC Study - Require Paid Work Breaks

Rep. Dahle was a Primary Sponsor on this bill which directs the Legislative Research Commission to study amending the Wage and Hour Act to require employers to provide a twenty-minute work break to any employee working a shift of six or more hours.

HB 641: Modifications to Various DPS Provisions (Green Alert Provision)

Rep. Dahle worked with several veterans’ affairs advocate and this bill’s sponsors to include the creation of a Green Alert System within the NC Center for Missing Persons to provide for a statewide system for alert of a missing person who is believed to be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder that requires them to be protected from potential abuse or other physical harm, neglect, or exploitation.
